What Kind of Diapers Do You Use?
A friend of mine recently ( and graciously) gave me a box of size 2 dry max diapers–you know the kind. Since then my son has had three accidents. And by that I mean peed through his diapers and clothes in less than 2.5 hours. WTF? This was not the case before dry max technology.
What kind of diapers do you use? And more, specifically, how long do they last?

With a newborn I’d expect to change upto 8 times a day. We cloth diapered which if you have a washing machine at home I’d totally recommend as a way to save $.
We used 7th Generation at night once our daughter got older. She still is actually. Never ever had a problem. Are they too big? Too small? Fit makes a difference.
1I used Pampers Swaddlers/Cruisers for my older boy without trouble. I started my little guy on the same path, but then Pampers came out with Dry Max and I ran into the same issue you are hitting — constant leaks and blowouts. I switched to Huggies Little Movers and we seldom have accidents anymore.
2We eventually switched to cloth diapers, but when my son was an infant we used Huggies. Right now we’re liking Seventh Generation as backups for our cloth.
3We use cloth fuzzi bunz and they last around 3 hours or more and are fantastic.
4I used Pampers Swaddlers for a while, then I discovered Target’s own brand (Up and Up). They’re half the price, and I like them better. Better coverage, and elastic in the back.
5We use the Target brand diapers too and have really liked them!
6we had the same problem! we started with pampers, then tried huggies…then tried dollar store ones…they are the only ones that worked! i know when he starts moving more they wont work well, but if hes going to pee thru them anyway, they might as well be cheap ones!
7I prefer the Target diapers (if you’re going cheaper), or the Huggies diapers(if you’re going not as cheap). Pampers just don’t seem to work as well for us either. Good luckl!!!!!
8at his age, I was using Pampers swaddlers and then cruisers, but at about 6 months I switched to Huggies and never looked back. Boys are just peeing all the time (I swear it’s true)
I like the little movers when he’s old enough….best.
good luck. (mine still pee through the nightime diapers almost every single night…UGH LOL)
9Oh, obviously, all babies are shaped differently. So you might have to try a few brands to see what works best for Baby Jay. Someone gave me a package of Huggies, and we had the most leaks with those. Another mom told me she had lots of leaks with the Target ones. Just different baby butts. Although, I have heard consistently bad things about Costco’s Kirkland diapers. But the Kirkland wipes are absolutely the best! Target diaper cream is great and a good bargain, too. Save your $$ for when he starts asking for things.
Missed you yesterday.
10cloth here.
11I’ve always imagined myself using cloth, but alas.
We have been long-time Pampers cruisers devotees. Huggies didn’t work for either of our sons. Not even the overnight ones. Later, we discovered that the Costco ones worked just as well as pampers and were a lot less expensive. They worked well on Cakie. Trucker is much more of a, well, a peer. So he pretty much pees through everything we put on him. Right now we’re using 7th Generation. I was very inspired on Earth Day, so I bought a bag. They actually work better than both the Pampers and the Costco diapers. I don’t think they do much for the earth except make people who use disposable diapers feel slightly less guilty. They do have the added benefit of not having cartoon characters on them. I don’t really know how they compare cost-wise. We belong to the food coop, so the price is comparable to Pampers.
12I used pampers brand till about 4months and quickly became a fan of ” You live , You Learn and then you get LUVS!” lol…they have been in luvs since then and its been affordable and great. The best part is the extra hugging room as they get bigger and no need to change to cruisers etc…NOW onto pull ups! yikes!
13What are you giving him – BEER? Just kidding – I use Pampers (size 3 (He’s 20 lbs) and Pampers Cruisers (3) at night cause they’re a bit bigger and good for holding poo. However, occasionally we get a leak. The Pampers Swaddlers worked very well. Good luck – visit some websites and look for samples of everything
14We have tried many! First, we were using the Huggies Pure & Natural (expensive!) and they were crap, literally. He had so many explosions that we switched to Kirkland (costco) and LOVE them. I have also tried Regular Huggies and 7th Generation, but Kirkland are our favorites and the most reasonable!
