Steroids in Baby Formula?
Okay, so it has been about seven and half weeks since Baby Jay has graced our lives and Nadia and I have never been happier. The little one eats every three hours or so and we have been fiendishly trying to keep up with his demand for organic baby formula. We weighed him over the weekend and he is about 14 lbs. We can’t believe it. He has almost doubled his size since we first met him and he shows no signs of stopping.
It has made me think that they put steroids in his formula. I am not complaining but, I’m just saying, lifting him has turned into a real work out!
I promise to write a real long post soon but it’s hard to juggle work (yes, I am still working full-time until September) and the glorious demands of newborn. Fortunately, Nadia is home with him during the day now, so he is well fed, changed, and cared for.
More to follow soon. I promise….

Whoa! That’s a big boy! Baby Cho (who is 2 months younger than Baby Jay) had her 4 month appointment today and weighed in at 13 lbs 12 oz. Go Jay Go!!!
1Jay is sure growing on Mama’s love and formula. You will get some very strong arms and shoulders lifting him for his daily snuggle quota.
2Hey! Glad to see you’ve come up for air
Sammy weighed in at 14 lbs 9 oz at his last doctor’s visit. He has his 2 month appointment today and it will be interesting to find out how much he’s gained in the last two weeks. Our doctor said that he is thriving and feeding on-demand is ok since his body knows how much it needs. She also said that Sam is going through a growth spurt and will taper off. I’m sure Baby Jay is going through his own spurt!
Sam gained all of his weight on organic formula, eating every 2-2.5 hours. We’ve recently switched him to Enfamil AR (added rice starch) because he was having spit up issues. The rice starch makes the formula a little thicker and is supposed to help keep it in his stomach. It hasn’t stopped the spit ups completely but they are much fewer.
Is Nadia going back to work when you’re off in Sept?
3That’s a big boy! Sounds like he’s really thriving.
I hurt my shoulder several weeks ago and finally called for a dr’s appt. The secretary asked if I was lifting anything. Ummm, yeah. A 20 pound baby. A stroller.
More pictures please! And how about an appearance at Mel’s blogger meetup?
4During one of several of K’s growth spurts, it seemed like all I was doing was feeding and preparing to feed him – and yes indeed I was! I’m glad to hear J’s is doing so well!
5so happy to hear that you all are still doing very well!
6Wonderful news! He is quite the growing boy… Can’t wait to see pics!
