The same thing happened to me too - we scoured the whole house and she didn't even look around. I'll tell you now though if you don't clean too much now, you're going to clean even less with a little one around. I'm hoping hubby caves and gets me a cleaner a couple times a month.

I love the real bathroom art. Too cute. And I can totally imagine myself cleaning like a wild woman then feeling disappointed when the social worker didn't look over the house closely enough. But the fact that you actually enjoyed the visit speaks volumes about how well the homestudy has gone so far. And I love that the SW thinks you will not be on the waiting list for very long.

Sounds like a very good homestudy interview! We have ours scheduled for the 28th of January and I am freaking out about all the stuff we have to get done!! The baby proofing alone is going to take hours. Ugggh.

Good for you. I am happy that you and Nadia have cleared this hurdle.

Yay for a successful home study!! Those things are so uncomfortable. Opening up your entire life to a stranger is tough. Our house has never been as clean as it was the day we had our study.

We have some friends with small kids whose bathroom art is photos of what look like hills and at one point tall grasses with plastic people on them, but when you look closely you realize they're nude bodies in extreme closeup. We've always wondered how they'll explain that one to the kids, but apparently it doesn't bother them!

If I were you, I'd leave the photos as they are until the homestudy process is over just because she commented on them and so she may look for them if she comes back. But we left up some of our naked lady artwork and it wasn't any sort of problem. (We did, just barely, remember to take it down before having a 15-year-old boy in the house. Because that could have been more awkward than I'd prefer!)

Oh my goodness, I *love* the bathroom postcards story. That is going to be one for the baby book.

When we had our home study, she wasn't going to do a tour either, but we invited her. Oops.

Oh lordy! If bossiness preculdes a person from adopting, I in trouble!

It sounds so doable, and that is the beauty of sharing these exepreinces, isn't it. Otherwise it all seems so scary.

I love lesbian pulp fiction--I read a few in my day!

Type one diabetes? Yikes!

I hope the Dr's move fast!

YAYYAYAAYAY! Little Wing! Where are you little Wing? Holy crap, I just got all choaked up thinking about your baby...
